Self-shot Me, Ram Bansal the Theosoph
76A Close-up
In free time, when you want to enjoy just yourself, there is nothing comparable to shooting the self with a camera. It is not difficult, yet a little bit tricky with a limitation that you can have only close-ups of yourself unless you have a camera with a timer. Like a mirror, camera too does not lie. It tells all your weak points which you may like to hide.
This photo was taken just after I shaved myself in a hurry and did not knew that I had done a very shabby job of shaving.
Through a Mirror
Hyderabad is famous for pearls and jewelry shops. I visited the city recently, and shot myself through a wall mirror of a shop to get the jewelry view in the background.
Happiness
True happy mood is not truly reflected by mouth area but through the eyes of the person.
Facing a camera all of a sudden does not provide an opportunity to the person to readjust his/her mood. The shot on the side shows me in the real happy mood reflected not only on the face but through the eyes too.
There are occasions when one has to force a laugh at himself while taking a shot of the self. The shot below was taken when I was on my work-desk and trying to reset my mood in between my writing works. The eyes reflect agony of the moment, though I had been trying to laugh-out the agony. Eyes never bluff in their expressions.
With a Writer's Block
When one has nothing but to keep on reading and writing, writer's block is often faced. To offset the block, I tried to shoot myself and to feel what influence the writer's block had on my face at that time. Some thoughts seem to be bubbling inside as reflected by the eyes in the shot.
No Disturbance Mood
Being busy provides a special charm to the face of the person. While busy on writing an article, I tried this shot from the camera very close to me not to distract myself from the writing mood I was in. In such moods, nothing except the work in hand is dear to the person in such a passionate mood.
Passionate Love
Once upon a time, not very far away from now, I fell in love with an online friend whose picture I used to keep on my desktop for a feeling of closeness with her. The affair did not last long as the trust I needed for sustenance of the passionate love was not confirmed by her conduct at a far away.place. The passion faded away soon with some scratches on my memory still hurting me.
Shadow of Worries
Worries change the outlook of a person drastically. I knew that I am shooting myself but could not bring smile on my face for being in the shade of a worry. Incidentally, the shadow of worry is reflected by the depleted background in the shot.
Aiming High
Your maximum reach is limited by your aim. For this reason, aiming high is always fruitful provided it does not lead to an ultimate disappointment due to you not deserving to reach the aim. 'First deserve then desire' is the basic principle that stands in between aiming and achieving.
With each big aim, the person is required to take care of the tiniest details of the endeavor for a success with contentment.
The Expressive Mood
When one is tempted to express him/herself, he knows nothing of his/her environment but the feelings bobbling inside. The words come out so naturally like a calm explosion.
Signing Mood
Signature reflect total personality of the person. Therefore, while signing a paper whole the person's energies reach down to the hand holding the pen.
